Rita OchoaParticipant
I was at the Aran islands 3 weeks ago and i also think it’s a lovely place (I even got sunburned!)… But getting to Dublin it’s hard, considering you have to get a boat and there’s no motorways almost all the way… to long I must say.
Rita OchoaParticipantThe games in Dublin and the portuguese team staying on the Aran islands is not very handy, is it ?…
Rita OchoaParticipantIs all that Dublin ?
Rita OchoaParticipantWhere are the games happening ?
Rita OchoaParticipant“goodbye sun & privacy, and all that..?!” on 5-storey apartment houses ??!!!
I live on the 6th floor and most of population in my country lives on appartments, some on the 20th or 30th floor and we can’t complain about lack of privacy! Also, specially on the top floor you can get a lot of sunlight and, in my case, luclky I don’t have to take care of a garden.
I think Ireland schould take advantage of not having earthquakes and start to build higher buildings. Of corse, first you have to loose some silly pre-concepts where only “some different” people live on flats, etc.
A house can be great but believe me that in our times it’s hard to live and take care of one if you have certain lifestyles.
Personally, I do prefer to live in appartments, the higher the best, with great views and sunlight, privacy 🙂I do understand bluefoam when he complains about is parents situation and that’s why planning high buildings isn’t easy and has to be according serious urban plans, not forgeting the distances, green areas, parking, etc.
Rita OchoaParticipantsw101, “e.g spains building and repairing 10 stadia for the price of our one.” ?
Sure you don’t mean Portugal ?
Again, Portugal is not Spain or part of it. They are 2 VERY different countries, being Portugal about 300 years older…Rita OchoaParticipantI completly agree with pvdz as long as people don’t think that’s a souvenir shop…
Also in our days and cities is much better to assume that shops like that really exist and are serious lucrtive business instead of hiding them in “street basements”. Some people might feel “ofended” but, at least here, and because of that reason the shops’ fronts never show the “offendable” objects!
Rita OchoaParticipantWhat’s Ann Summers ?
Rita OchoaParticipant🙂 I’m already making a few phone calls…
Rita OchoaParticipantI’m talking about portuguese entries in irish AND portuguese competitions
Rita OchoaParticipantNot for a book but on the website, what about some portuguese unbuilt competition entries ? I know some people who can be interested…
Rita OchoaParticipant… and foreigns. My personal experience tells me that we get less money due to the lack of experience on “the irish way of building” and therefore reduce 1 or 2 years of experience on the cv’s even if we have other very good qualities!
Rita OchoaParticipantVet hospital is a hospital too…here’s a very nice one:
http://www.fmv.utl.pt/fmv_en/fmv_en04a.htm
It’s also a vet college, situated in Lisbon just next to my old architecture college.
Portugal is full of old hospitals and it’s making an effort to build new ones urgently, altough they are very expensive projects and construtions.
To give you a general idea, of all the existing hospitals only one has an oficial quality certification.Rita OchoaParticipantI’m getting some information for you trough a friend who is doing a master on that subject. She’s also involved on that project with the MIT.
Rita OchoaParticipantterrorism ?
Rita OchoaParticipantWelsh ? I didn’t know that… but then, I’m portuguese!
Rita OchoaParticipantSão PatrÃÂcio (St. Patrick) is also celebrated in Portugal, at all the irish pubs.
…Of course people here have no idea about who was that english guy but it has been always a good escuse to drink and have some fun… 😉
Rita OchoaParticipantI’m sorry if it’s a bit dirty but I thought it was quite funny 😉
Rita OchoaParticipantAnd you say you have bad City Council Flats… look at some typical portuguese exemples of social housing / affordable appartements:
Rita OchoaParticipantIs Dublin hiding weapons of mass destruction… ?
