Built as an Arts faculty and containing lecture theatres and seminar rooms, libraries, an art gallery and administration and social facilities for over 200 staff and 3,700 graduates and undergraduates.
Designed by Patrick McSweeney who was Cork County Architect from 1953 to 1975 and designed numerous buildings in and around Cork City.

Instead of an open architectural competition, the Corporation invited developers to submit entries. The brief called for the provision of 300,000 square feet of office space in “an efficent layout and form reflecting the importance of the buildings in the life of the city.”
Opened as the Curzon Cinema, and later the Lighthouse, the entrance foyer to this cinema was distinctly modern.
The Kevin Street campus of the Dublin Institute of Technology wass a large purpose built structure opened in 1968.
Designed for the Guardian Assurance Company, this five-storey office building terminated an important vista from Earlsfort Terrace as well as being the last building along the Shelbourne Hotel side of the Green.
Runner up in the 1968 developer-led competition to design and construct a new headquarters for Dublin Corporation.
Formerly in use as back-office accommodation for Allied Irish Banks. Demolished to make way for new office accommodation in early 21st century.
