Designed by leading Irish church architect J.J. McCarthy, the foundation stone was laid in 1859, with the church largely complete and used for mass by 1865.
“The illustration in this number is a design sent in to the recent Albert Memorial Competition in Belfast,
The Royal Marine Hotel as intended by architect John McCurdy. Sadly almost the entire right hand wing was never constructed as illustrated.
Never constructed on the site intended for it, opposite the old church of St. Conall on which Hevey also worked.
Unbuilt proposal for a warehouse for a wholesale druggist, Hugh Moore & Co., for Capel Street on the site of the Scot’s church.
Commissioned in 1864 but not completed for several years, and designed to serve a new suburb of Dublin.
Original design, the tower and spire of which was not completed, published in The Irish Builder,
Designed in a Lombardo-Romanesque style, this building was never completed with the northern tower remaining without the ornate belfry designed for it.
