Sited just south of the Bank of Montreal Building of 1913. Originally called the Farmer Block after its developer T.D.J. Farmer (1863-1934). Designed by locally based architect William Wallace Blair, and constructed at a cost of $113,000, the stone-clad four-storey structure was a mixed development of commercial space on the ground floor and residential suites on the upper floors. By the end of the First World War, the building was owned by the Canadian Fire Insurance Company. In December 1918, they renamed it as the Victory Building to commemorate the Allied victory and their employees who served in military forces. Demolished in 1980s to make way for an elegant tower for the Bank of Montreal.
