1900 – John Leslie Furniture, 298 Main Street, Winnipeg
Originally a partner in “Scott and Leslie, The Big Furniture House”, in 1895, John Leslie went out on his own. Once part of a fantastically varied streetscape of Main Street between the Lower Fort Garry and Portage and Main junction. Old photographs show a variety of sizes of buildings with awnings and signage, the current state of Main Street is a poor comparison.
