Derives its name from St Andrew’s Church, which was the Chapel for the Irish Parliament based in College Green.

More expansive scheme than constructed to replace the church destroyed in a fire in 1860.
Originally constructed as St Andrews Church of Ireland and built on the site of an earlier church destroyed by fire.
“These schools are proposed to be erected at the rere of St. Andrew’s Church, St. Andrew-street.
A relatively large building, this Post Office was built to replace an earlier on nearby Church Lane which links Andrew and Suffolk Streets to College Green.
