In the 1940s and 1950s, the Ladies Committee of the Civics Institute set up two nursery schools –
Máirín Hope (1914-2009)
Máirín Cuffe graduated from the School of Architecture in University College Dublin in 1939. later the same year, she married fellow architect Alan Hope (1909-65). Sister of architect Luan P. Cuffe (1917-80).
