Would dubliners loose that superior attitude towards the rest of Ireland. We are ALL IRISH. The British look down on the Irish, we don’t need our own people looking down on us. Just because Dublin has been given EVERYTHING dose’nt make them better people. I am so sick of paying tax for the people of Dublin to have good facilities, roads etc, while I have to drive on what are literally dirt tracks. I want to go to a concert I have to travel for three hours, I want to go to the theatre I have to drive for three hours, I want to see a sporting event I have to drive for three hours etc, etc. By the time you can travel from one major point to another on motorway standard roads, which are by the way planned for years, I believe I will be long gone, at the rate it’s going. Luas tram for Dublin Couple of billion, new underground for Dublin proposed 2 billion, new interchange and upgrading for the M50) 600 million, port tunnel nearly 1 billion, while I travel on what simply are lethally dangerous so called roads which have’nt changed since the horse and cart. The East of Ireland has modern european infraustructure while the majority of the rest of Ireland simply dose’nt have infraustructure full stop. How can the rest of Europe have good infraustructure and facilities throughout there Country?? Simply European grants that where intended for outside Dublin have been used in Dublin, corruption I say. The county I live in has 120,000 people but has only two, yes two good stretches of road that total about 20 miles???. One good stretch had too be resurfaced badly for two miles but they could only afford to resurfact 1 mile of it, a joke or what. The town I live in has NOT ONE childrens play ground, bet theres plenty in Dublin, probably one for every couple of thousand kids. This Country needs radical change quickly or everywhere outside Dublin will not develop and will be stuck in the past forever.
FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FOR IRELAND NOW, IT’S THE ONLY FAIR WAY.

If you want to solve the traffic problems in Dublin someone use there common sense, decentralise, and I don’t mean a few civil servants, develop the other cities in Ireland to be able to attract companies, offices, sporting events, concerts, etc etc etc. Kop on someone………..
You would’nt buy a five bedroomed house and live in just one room would you, no of course not, but thats the equivalent as to what ireland is.

Well it’s a miracle they held something outside of Dublin, (Tullamore). I nearly passed out when I heard.

So it goes to Belfast. Note: Belfast is part of the United Kingdom. The Republic of Ireland is a seperate country???????.
So the Republic holds the Presidency but the British get the farewell party. Only in Ireland, the Republic I must state. The Republic of Ireland (I have to educate you here I think) is not alone made up of Dublin. It is a country that also has such places as Cork, Limerick, Galway, Waterford and many, many towns far away from Dublin.
Of course they can’t hold it in another part of the Republic as the Irish republics philoposy is it has to be in Dublin, anything, or not at all.
And I guess the reply here would be well nowhere in the rest of Ireland could hold it, why is that I ask, because everything has been developed in Dublin, quite a discrace and very, very wrong.
Federal Government for Ireland, (Republic) NOW……

Federalism, Decentralise, local government with tax raising powers, only fair way of government, badly needed in Ireland. Look to Germany, Spain, Australia, New Zealand to name but a few.

Scotland and Ireland bid they say, seems more like a Scotland/Dublin bid. Yet again we see the rest of ireland totally ignored, as in the plans for the olympic bid. When will people in Ireland wake up to this totally ignorant biased towards the rest of Ireland. Government is meant to represent a whole country not just one city. Croke Park, Landsdomne Road and now possibly a new 80,000 seater stadia along with maybe a new stadia for the FAI. Thats Dublin alone, in world terms a small/medium size city. Now lets list the the stadia and sports facilities for the rest of Ireland, mmmm, can’t think of any. 1 bn for a one project in one city when other cities have no facilities to talk of at all. Cardiffs new M. Stadium, 300m, you could build three of them in Ireland and still have change, oh but no sorry, they would probably end up building all three in Dublin. Wake up and kop on, Ireland is a country that spreads past Dublin.
