English architect. Early in his career he assisted Fowke and H.Y.D. Scott at the South Kensington Museum and the Albert Hall. Spent such time in partnership with G.H. Hunt as Verity & Hunt. He designed the Neo-Renaissance Criterion Theatre and Restaurant, Piccadilly Circus (1870-4), the Comedy Theatre (1881), and, with his son Francis Thomas Verity, 96-7 Piccadilly (1891) and the Imperial Theatre (1901), all in London.
