Gallaher Tobacco Company, now part of Japan Tobacco, was originally founded in Derry in 1857 by Tom Gallaher.
Samuel Stevenson & Sons was originally founded in 1886 by Samuel Stevenson, and is the longest established Architectural Practice in Northern Ireland. His sons, John H. Stevenson and William J. Stevenson, joined the practice after the First World War and carried it on after their father’s death as Samuel Stevenson & Sons.
