1843 – Loreto Abbey, Dalkey, Co. Dublin Founded in 1841 by Frances Teresa Ball (1794-1861), a native of Dublin. Her first foundation was at Rathfarnham and was called Loreto Abbey,
1860s – Loreto Convent, Bray, Co. Wicklow Architect: John Sterling Butler A Georgian house that was “gothicised” and later added to by John Sterling Butler. The gothic dress was added c.1834 and a large twenty-two sided conservatory was also added.
1870 – Chapel, Loreto Convent, Fermoy, Co. Cork Architect: G.C. Ashlin Extending an already established convent, Ashlin designed a new wing comprising recreation hall and dormitory, and chapel.
1870s – Loreto Convent, Balbriggan, Co. Dublin Although a convent and school still exists on this site, the buildings illustrated are either gone or unrecognisable. The school was started in 1857 when they took over the house with curved bays seen in the centre of the shot.
1881 – Loreto Convent, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath Architect: Ralph H. Byrne Constructed in the Institutional Gothic style that is characteristic of buildings for religious congregations at this time.
