Clayton & Black

In 1882, Ernest Black (1855-1917) joined the Brighton architectural practice Holford & Clayton, formed by Charles Edward Clayton (1853-1923) and George Holford (1851-1938) in 1876. It later became Holford, Clayton & Black until in 1883 when George Holford (1851-1938) withdrew from the partnership, leaving the practice to become Clayton & Black.
