Burke Horwood & White

Burke, Horwood and White was originally founded in 1894 by Edmund Burke (1850-1919) and J.C.B. Horwood (1864-1938). Murray White (1869-1935), joined the partnership in 1909. Burke, Horwood and White were one of the most successful Canadian architectural firms during the boom decades preceding World War I, and were known for their commercial buildings, and this led to the firm’s appointment as architects to the Hudson’s Bay Company.
