Given there’s only a handful of the latter in the State, their work stands out mile when you encounter it.
Who are they?
goneillParticipantArchitects may advertise.
The thinking was that it was “unprofessional” to do so. There is an argument that advertising doesn’t benefit the consumer or promote competition. I read somewhere that 20% of the cost of a car (in the UK about seven years ago) went on advertising. Look at all the full page ads for solicitors in the Yellow Pages. What do they cost? €50k? €100k? Who actually ends up paying for them and do they promote justice? And if you’re a brilliant young solicitor starting off, is it fair that you have to compete with the guy with the full page ad?goneillParticipanthttp://www.dublincity.ie/AniteIMWebSearch/Results.aspx?grdResultsP=5

goneillParticipantWhere is the best place to get new anatomically correct sliding sash windows, with glazing bars? Has anyone on this forum directed the installation of double glazing in same, satisfactorily, though the use of e.g ” Slimlite”? Has this been used with putty on a conservation project of accepted high quality?
Alternatively, has anyone used a secondary glazing system which is visually ok, as at Merrion Hotel? Thanks
goneillParticipantWell, if you wonder what the Department of Education actually does, it writes guidelines, – tons of them!
Try this for starters:

Doesnt explain why the buldings to the left have blank east walls, but perhaps these were accesed from the courtyard on their western side.
goneillParticipantDoes anyone know what exactly is the material used to pave the area outside the Lord Edward on Christ Church Place? Looks like granie setts, I’m told.
Thank you
