ParticipantDoes anybody have any opinions / information about planning in the areas surrounding Dublin Airport? Is it true that Aer Rianta object to all planning applications as a matter of course??

ParticipantPrimetime did a recent programme on how Aer Rianta have the most extended “red zones” in world aviation which extend on to other peoples lands surrounding the airport and as par for the course they object to all planning applications within these “red zones” / Aer Rianta shadows !!. Established market gardeners cannot even build simple storage sheds… looks like their trying to give them the shove to sell !! and move on.

ParticipantI used to work in aer-rianta for a year and a bit. They were a victim of their own policy when they could’nt build a new creche because it was in a red zone. But i’m with the airport on this one. If the runway’s are ever extended which they most probably will the red zones will shrink. Also Aer-rianta allready own most of the land around the airport so avoid paying stupid money when they need to build something. It gets on my nerves when you get people living near by complaining about the amount of air-traffic overhead. what did they think whan they bought thier house, that air travel was on the way out?????? madness
