1878 – Primitive Methodist Chapel, School & House, Ardwick, Manchester, Lancashire

Architect: William Dawes

0096

All that remains of this comples are the Sunday School and the minister’s house. William Dawes won an architectural competition to design the church, school and house. It was completed in 1878. The Pevsner Guide describes what is left as, “A picturesque assemblage of elements in sandstone rubble: Gothic detailing. Two-storey ploygonal hall with a tall pointed roof.” Dwindling congregation numbers resulted in the church’s closure in 1964 and it was subsequently demolished.
