1850 – Courthouse, Ennis, Co. Clare

The winning entry in an architectural competition in 1844 for a new courthouse. Won by local architect who had previously been articled to James Pain – this is his only recorded Irish work. He later emigrated to the United States in 1852 and settled in Louisville, Kentucky, where he became the city’s leading architect.
