1974 – Offices, Shelbourne Road, Dublin
Architect: Stephenson Gibney & Associates
Speculative office development built on the site of Turner’s Cottages. The developer Gordon M. Greene had purchased the cottages in 1966, and had persuaded the tenantry to leave, giving him vacant possession. While awaiting planning permission, he transferred ownership to a shell offshore company, got his permission in 1971, and developed the site, avoiding capital gains tax. Turner’s Cottages got their name due to their proximity to Richard Turner’s Hammersmith Works and were constructed as workers housing for the business. Redeveloped.
