Drimnagh Castle Secondary School opened in 1954 to serve the growing communities of Drimnagh and Walkinstown. For a short time after the school opened, classes took place in the adjacent castle itself, until the current buildings were completed at a cost of £84,000. With its long brick two storey facade, the sole vertical emphasis in the entrance hall and stairwell projection.
