1954 – Unexecuted design for County Hospital, Carlow
Architect: Michael Scott Architects
Carlow did not get a County Hospital in the 1920s or 1930s when many counties were constructing new hospitals replacing old Victorian infirmaries. Various designs were produced between 1952 and 1956 by Robin Walker and Ronald Tallon of Michael Scott’s office but none of the plans was proceeded with due to “acute financial stringency”. Drawing by Robin Walker.
