1903 – Electra House, 84 Moorgate, London
Designed as accommodation for the Eastern and Associated Telegraph Companies. The façade has an obvious horizontal tripartite subdivision, with a grey granite ground storey and tall mezzanine. Both are rusticated. The intermediate 3rd and 4th floors are recessed behind two colonnades. The third level above the entablature is a copper clad attic and mansard roof with dormers, all topped by a triumphal octagonal dome and drum.
The building has decorative sculpture works distributed across the façade. The sculptural work includes work by leading figures of the New Sculpture movement – Alfred Drury, F. W. Pomeroy, George Frampton, and William Goscombe John. Just inside the entrance of the building is a mural by the artist George Murray. Grade II listed and is use by London Metropolitan University.
