Originally built as a one-storey brick and stone building, it had a small bell cote above the entrancr pediment. It was built in 1902 at a cost of about $20,000 by contractor Joseph-Azarie Senecal, the contractor and sometimes architect of choice of French-Canadian catholic organisations and clerics. In 1923 the building was purchased by Les Missionnaires Oblates, extended and converted to a boys’ residential school. It has served multiple purposes since then: a residential and domestic training facility for girls and young women; and housing for elderly people. Currently empty.
