1877 – Design for Church of St. Mary Magdalen, Woolwich, London
Architect: William Young
Design for the remodeling of St. Mary Magdalen church of 1740, published in The Building News, May 24th 1878. In 1877 two architects fashionable with the aristocracy were asked to submit schemes for recasting the old church: William Young, and the experienced Arthur Blomfield. Only Young seems to have made a design, this one showing the building reclothed in a heavy French Gothic dress. Never carried out, the church was later extended by John Oldrid Scott in 1894.
