In 1914 a new building for the Winnipeg Tribune newspaper company was designed by leading local architect John D.
Opened in 1914, it served as a replacement for the original Union Depot which opened in 1878.
Installed to commemorate one Emily Margaret Waddell. Mrs. Waddell died, in 1908, after a major operation while in the United States,
Built on land donated by the Morrison family formerly occupied by their Villa Rosa mansion,
