I went up to have a look at the goulding house (Scott Tallon Walker) at the weekend (during the hailstones downpour) and it’s covered in scaffolding. all the windows, floorboards, and timber walls are gone.
Anyone know who the new owner is?
I’m assuming Johnny Ronan found a buyer?
There has been work undertaken on the gate lodge house as well by the looks of it
It is being renovated by Scott Tallon Walker.
According to Building Material there will be an exhibition of research work done by students of the Architectural Association in the RIAI soon enough. There will be an AAI site visit to the house on Sat. June 3 @ 11am
Seen from the river, the Goulding Summerhouse appears to float high above the banks of the Dargle River. This gem of modernist simplicity was built in 1972 by Sir Basil Goulding in the lush gardens of his Enniskerry home and after years of neglect it has been renovated by its current owner, property developer John Ronan. Designed by architect Ronnie Tallon, it is a single-storey rectangular box made of glass, steel and cedar.
