The Royal Institute of British Architects has pleased to announced the winners of the 2010 RIBA Awards. RIBA Awards for architectural excellence will be presented to 102 buildings in the UK and Europe (93 in the UK and nine in the rest of the EU).
Carlow Town and the county to which it gives its name are situated in a part of Ireland that has been urbanised since the Norman invasion of the 12th century.
The grey Irish sky hangs so low over Carlow it seems about to engulf it. The town of 20,000 people, an hour or so’s drive south of Dublin,
