1859 – Natural History Museum, Merrion Square, Dublin

Although externally well designed in an austere granite classicism between 1856-57 – it is the interior of the Natural History Museum which deserves the most attention.

Architect: Alfred Waterhouse

Previously a section of the British Museum, Richard Owen, who was appointed Superintendent of the collection in 1856 wanted to expand the museum.

1886 – Snow Hall of Natural History, Topeka, Kansas

Architect: J.H. Emerton
