Opened in 1907 after an architectural competition in 1906. Funded with a grant from Andrew Carnegie who provided £2,500.
The university was founded as the University College of North Wales in October 1884 as the result of a campaign for better education in Wales,
The LNWR built signal box dates from 1923 and was formerly Bangor No.2 but is now the sole box in the town on the North Wales Coast mainline.
