I can’t say I had ever heard of this small little lane-way of admittedly charming cottages but Dublin City Council are now in the process of making it an Architectural Conservation Area of 10 properties on the street (by way of Variation 5 of the 2011 City Development Plan)

Really? Is this a priority? I was pottering along another ACA the other day – Capel Street (designated 2009) – and I couldn’t help notice that the presentation and maintenance of buildings on that street fell slightly short of even the limited standards the Council sets for the City.

The lunatics have taken over the asylum.
