A CAR ended up in the basement of an architect’s office in a bizarre crash in Dublin yesterday afternoon.
Two people had to be treated in hospital after the three-car collision in Dublin’s Mountjoy Square which sent one car careering into the basement.
It happened in mid-afternoon after a car attempted to turn onto Mountjoy Square at its junction with Fitzgibbon Street, then collided with a taxi and another car.
The car kept moving after hitting the taxi before finally plunging through steel barriers and landing 8ft below street level in the basement of the architect’s office.
The driver, a man, was taken to the Mater Hospital with minor injuries and released last night. The taxi driver made his own way to hospital, where he was treated for a back complaint.
