Green light for new Dublin airport terminal

Who has just informed Aer Rianta not to go ahead with any extensions without his say so.

Who exactly runs our country??? Our transport infrastructure to be more exact. Sounds like Aer Rianta are making a last gasp to show their authority and to size up the “real” second terminal (the private one).

Good article about the whole fiasco in the Irish Times today by the one and only Frank McDonald. Seemingly it looks like sour grapes on Aer Rianta’s behalf, trying to block Ryanair’s proposal by having their terminal built instead. Looking at the aerial plans/diagrams on the newspaper, Ryanair’s proposal looks more straightforward for aircraft docking and less fussy than Aer Rianta’s.

What on earth is going on with this. Is it so impossible to identify a need (as clearly exists!) and to plan a viable and cost effective solution with all stakeholders. Isnt that the whole reason for setting up the D of T in the first place to streamline the Government decision-making process and avoid the whole scenario of various fingers messing up the pie!

I dont see why ryanair needs a terminal at all, i mean just park the air craft up in a field NEAR teh airport and we can climb up ladders to get in, they wont need any loading facilities because they dont usually bother ro send your luggage with you anyway.
Possible proposal for the entire ariport building to be demolished and a newer nicer one be built in its place?

Obviously Michael O Leary and Co don’t subscribe to Fianna Fail’s agenda else the terminal would be built with no bother with a couple of brown envelopes too along the way(allegedly)

Maybe a fleet of Michael O’Leary financed Taxi plates (he has one for evcery occasion you know) could ferry his passengers to a makeshift terminal onthe outskirts of the airport – while the rest of us get on with it all – well either that or Seamus Brennan should fire every single member of Aer rianta’s Board for being so publicy antagonistic – god I can’t wait for the attempted breakup of CIE –
