Article in today’s Tribune about ACC bank. Seems they are eager to redevelop their headquarters facing grand canal parade.
They feel their current HQ is “unremarkable and aesthetically unpleasing” and would like to replace it with a building of “significant architectural merit”.Does anyone know if they built their current HQ, it’s only about 10 years old?
More importantly whats going to happen to this part of Dublin.
-The CFI was turned down for it’s new HQ yards away, but will be back with something else no doubt
-One GCP has just been finished
-Harcourt Terrace is going to get a similar bulk of office space.
-Meanwhile across from ACC dozens of council flats, facing onto Charlemont St are boarded up. These flats our street facing and have obvious open market value.
Is this small part of Dublin symptomatic of DCC’s screwball planning?
