Anyone know if there is an ETA for Dublin streetview on google maps? I’ve been filmed at least twice during the surveying, (pixalated) immortality beckons!

According to a recent article in the NYT, it takes about a year from survey to launch. The author doesn’t attribute how he got his intel on the one year lag, though possibly from the ‘Google representative’.

very hard to find info on who and how they did this, seems they did it by processing stereo aerial photos
from the copyright notice the to companies earth infoterra and bluesky via their joint project http://www.bluesky-world.com/geoperspectives/
look at the ambassador its a mess.

The 3D version certainly gives alternative aspect of the city.
Note how the GPO is shown somewhat set back from the street when viewed from street level. I think it would look more attractive if this were the case in reality. If only the corner buildings that flank it on either side ( BHS and JWT) were occupied by symetric houses that would compliment the GPO itself.
Just an observation. -

*looks on google earth* ah i see, it is way off, thats cos they left any half decent buildings made by individual amateurs as they were, so thats why it isn’t aligned along side the company made ones, i put in incorrect position notice.
should take a view like that down every street and post it, you could incorporate your buildings info with it mr clerkin
