Does an Enforcement Order Expire?

Forgive me if I’m seemingly continuously looking for answers on planning issues.

I was just curious to know if an Enforcement Order was issued against an unauthorised development under a certain file number then as retention was applied for and granted under a new file number is the original Enforcement Order still valid or is it dismissed with.

Any help on this one would be very much appreciated.

Someday, hopefully I’ll have amassed enough knowledge on the workings of the Irish Planning system to offer advice and help to anyone that needs it.
