I am not going to comment on the culprits, but I really agree with you Alan. I am finding some of the threads here lately hard to make any sense of!

indeed. as a casual onlooker i find it hard to concentrate on any post that exceeds 10-15 lines. particularly if the post is debating with itself before anyone else even has a read of it.
And then once you *do* start debating, the previous posts suddenly change, shrink and disappear… very disconcerting.
