Hi All I am starting a dissertation on the changing face of Dublin’s Liffey Quays, I have read with interest the reactions on the Ormond Hotel subject and some of the related references. Having spoken to my tutor he decided that it would be best to concentrate on the Section between Eden Quay and Hueston Station. Do any of you have any ideas as to what the most significant changes have been over the past fifty years?

      Thanks

      Jack

      Jack,

That sounds like a very interesting thesis, I would start by going to the National Library and recording the occupiers of the buildings from 1950. I would then do the same for every 5 years to 2000. This way you will be able to observe within one years accuracy as to the gradual dissapearance of most of the buildings that once framed the Liffey Quays.

Feel free to e-mail me if you want to talk further on it.

Thanks Diasporan, I’ll be in touch I hope that you can come up with a few faster ideas than all that data entry.
