Firstly, Congrats to Paul on spoofing some of the media recently – and you have yor profile in the Phoenix of all places!!!

Well, Since Abeville is in the news, how much alteration has the rest of his buildings suffered? The Four Courts and Customs House have all been gutted – what remains of these places.

Also, the portico on Abeville looks very smilar to some window/door architraves on other Gandon buildings – no?

In addition to being gutted, the four courts was altered externally. The two wings protruded beyound the screen wall by a bay before it was destroyed – this was shortened giving the main facade a very flat appearance – also windows were inserted into blind niches.

I also have the luck of living beside the Kings Inns. I know Gandon resigned from the job and it was completed by Baker and later extended by Owen, but still it has never been burned or assaulted…. its nice to be able to glance to my right out the window and see the dome and the side of the building….
