I think the fact that I realised then that architecture doesn’t equal money stood me in good stead for the next 30 years. That’s the crucial decision to make re the future – this isn’t the first or last recession and students need to realise that the rewards handed to them by their parents over the last 10 years are gone and aint coming back any time soon. I wouldn’t take the 30 years back but if I do lose the job this time around it will be hard to find the motivation to return
