Pajeronoma – Nice one ctesiphon, especially when one considers what pajero means in Spanish slang!
Surely the street should be aping Madison Avenue, not Fifth? Madison is more expensive than Fifth, even if many of the “names” remain on Fifth.
I’m not a big fan of the Hermes building on Madison (McKim Mead White). http://www.nyc-architecture.com/UES/UES010.htm
Ralph Lauren deserve credit for maintaining Madison & 72 St – http://www.nyc-architecture.com/UES/UES046.htm
Footfall is so high on Madison in Midtown and Upper East Side that designer retailers regard their premises as billboards and are content to run at a loss, regarding it as a justified advertising cost to reach that area’s wealthy residents. Cannot see that happening in Dawson St, even if Royston has moved out.
