Starting life as a simple single aisle church, the nave was entended by two bays, and a polygonal apse later added. The entrance front and spire were added to St. Mary’s around 1910, tenders being invited in 1909, to designs by John J. McDonnell. External embellishments at this time led to the church’s final appearance. A new Roman Catholic church opened in 1966, and this building is now a YMCA Youth and Community Centre.
