Cliff House, was rebuilt by a Thomas Conolly, an Irish Conservative Party politician as a summer residence. He was the Member of Parliament for Donegal from 1849 until his death in 1876. The house was demolished as part of the Erne Hydroelectric Scheme, the Cliff power station was constructed on the site of the house and commissioned in 1950.
