Demolished to make way for the Irish Life Centre which stretched through from Abbey Street. At 91-92 Talbot Street, Varian Brushes was set up in 1856. And there the company grew and flourished, with building and employees witness to the changing city and, in 1920, to the death in battle outside their window of Republican leader Sean Treacy. The business still operates today from Walkinstown.
