“These buildings, which we now illustrate, will occupy a very prominent position between the Orange Hall and new Soldiers’ Home. The walls will be faced with red perforated bricks, terra-cotta panels, finials, moulded and dentilled strings being introduced, from the works of the Annadale Brick Company. The sashes of shops project beyond main face in a straight line; the upper portions will be glazed with patent printed glass, and large panes with polished plate. Operations for their erection were commenced last week by the contractors, Messrs. Rodgers and Black, of Belmore-street, under the superintendence of the architect, Mr. William Batt, of Royal Avenue.” The Irish Builder, October 15 1891.
