Cottage orné originally built by Lady Kenmare for the use of friends and visitors to the Lakes. Queen Victoria had lunch here during her 1861 visit to Killarney. Destroyed by fire in April 1922 when it was found to be in flames at 4 o’clock on a Sunday morning. The fire started in the thatched roof and soon spread to the entire cottage. It was believed that the fire was started maliciously. Possibly designed by Lewis Vulliamy.
