Muir College is a mix of Gothic and Indian architectural elements which was designed by William Emerson. The college was established in 1886 and was commenced in 1874. Muir College houses an arcade quadrangle, which is dominated by a 200 feet minaret tower. This minaret tower is cream in colour and is made from sandstone brought from Mirzapur, which has marble and mosaic floors. Illustrations published in The Architect, May 8th 1875.
