Elevations, Sections & Plans published in The Building News, February 2nd 1877. “The residence shown on the accompanying sheets of drawings has been recently erected as an addition to an old homestead at Ayres End, Harpenden, near St. Albans. The materials used are the local grey bricks, Portland stone, red deal timber framing and best Staffordshire tiles for the roofs and gables. Mr. Thomas Worthington, of Manchester was the architect; and Mr. Miskin, of St. Albans, the builder.”
