John Woodman (1861-1944)

An engineer who joined the Canadian Pacific Railway and was engaged in railway construction work in the west for many years. He attained the position of Chief Engineer, Western Line, CPR, but in 1902 he left the railway to open his own office as an engineer and architect. Practiced as John Woodman, before joining English architect Raymond Carey as Woodman & Carey 1911-1917, and later worked with Arthur E. Cubbidge as Woodman & Cubbidge, 1917-1923 before working alone until his retirement.
