I think your point johnglas is that a disproportionate number of cyclists are aggressive, risk-adverse: mad, but, well have you tried cycling in Dublin, fewer cars, less craziness, more segregated lanes, fewer pedestrians wandering on cycle lanes and sensible junctions and I am sure there would be lots of nice people cycling too and the aggressive mad ones would fall in with an altogether nicer gentler urban cycling culture.
