2005 will see a lot more announcements than recent years I think both in buildings and infrastructural projects.
The major ones I’ll be looking at in 2005
Certainties
Buildings
Tara St rail station re-announced
The South Docklands begining to take shape including Manuel Aries Matheus’ and Liebskinds buildings being properly confirmed and better images being released.
The new purchaser of Liberty Hall will release plans for its new cladding.
The replacement for York St will be confirmed
Infrastructure
The Route of the Luas link up & point depot extension will be announced
Work will begin on the Phoenix park tunnel
Ennis- Athenry as per above
Completion of the M1 to Newry
Completion of the M4 to Kinnegad
The M3 will spend the year in the 4 Courts
Martin Cullen is at best 50% to survive
A second terminal will be announced at Dublin Airport
Cargo growth will accelerate at Shannon
Knock will actually handle 500,000 passengers for the first time
General trends
Office building will resume across all the major cities in Ireland on a scale not seen since 2000, taller buildings will be passed at transport nodes. Design quality will improve

Denis O’Brien will get planning for a barna shed
