NEGOTIATIONS CONTINUE ON FUTURE OF MARKET’S FIELD (live95fm)
A municipal stadium at the Market’s Field in Limerick city, for the people of Limerick is the wish of the Chief Exective of Limerick Football Club.
Pat O’Sullivan is currently in negotiations with the Irish Greyhound Board to buy the spiritual home of Limerick soccer.
The residents in surrounding Garryowen are being involved in the negotiations and Pat says it’s about creating a legacy for soccer in the city…
I would have thought that the idea behind any “Municipal Stadium†is that ownership is in the hands of the local authority i.e. the Limerick City Council and they in turn rent it out to sporting bodies like the Limerick Football Club?
